carrying your cage with you

“Portable Cage” (by nakedpastor David Hayward)

Sometimes we can see how easily another person can live more freely. Why can’t we see the same thing for ourselves?

Don’t you ever get the feeling that all you have to do is drop your idea of being confined and you won’t be? Do you ever get the hunch that all you have to believe is you’re free and live like it?

We are BORN with total dependency,of course, and that dependency grows and stays with us, if we do not think and act on the basis of brains given by the CREATOR.
For those of us who do not learn to establish the most significant part of daily life depending on ourselves, we forever establish a dependency on others. There is a place for the latter on occasions where we can NOt depend on ourselves for many possible reasons.
It is at this point we are blessed with having someone or GOd upon which to depend for our welfare.
Has worked for me,by living within reasonable bounds of freedom of thought and action.

Truth be told, we all probably carry around two partial cages with us. One for ourselves and another to put others in. These psychological things of the mind are tough to get over.

Some people would like to hand people a cage like theirs.

It is incredibly easy to just hold on to your cage and just look at the bars, to see how you’re held back.
There is a tarot card that I like that relates here – The Prisoner (well, reversed). The mind loves to make us think that we deserve these ills, but these prisons ARE false if we bother to check. Mind has a wonderful habit of making you overthink your own guilt
