You can shop and go to church, you can be a consumer and a Christian, a capitalist and a Christ-follower, all at the same time! Woohoo!
That’s too funny!!!! Sadly there is no pretense with the shopping mall like there is with the Church.
Pizza for communion! Yes! I’m all in!
lol… The sad reality of this cartoon is all too true…. and a bit too generous, I am afraid. The church is not as lovely as a shopping mall; the church is far worse.
I was speaking about the church we left the other day to a person… and he corrected me, and said, ‘that was not a church… it was and is a club.’
– Clubs are exclusive and partiality is allowed… officers are hand-picked in clubs by a board-of-the-few, and clubs are elitist by nature… whereas a shopping mall is open to all attendees, leadership is multiple and governs in multiple directions, and lastly, the shopping mall is a smorgasboard of generalist/specialist/elitist/outreach/contemplation/and wildness….
– Clubs try to become your center focus, your vision, your world, and the great consumer of your time. Shopping malls sell a product or a service, and are done with you – and send you back to your family and your world… in fact, I visit a shopping mall to do good things for others….
Keep drawing! You provoke our minds to think again! Love it!
Much love in Christ always and unconditionally; Caryn
Happy Christmas, David. Thanks for all the laughs and insights
