Throughout the year there are volunteer opportunities at the local VA. What I learned from working with Veterans at a county office in California is drivers for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) vans are always needed, everywhere. Though any time or donations to the VA or DAV are appreciated.

Older vets have also expressed their concern with the Valentines for Vets program. Some of them don’t really want a card on a romantic holiday from a stranger … unless they are from a real secret admirer.
