God is my Incompetent Co-Pilot?

Not theologically sound. Not a good advertisement for your faith. Not an excuse for inattentive driving. FAIL on multiple counts.

the notion that you are in the captain’s chair and God is your co- well it’s just the worst sort of pseudo-theology.

Pseudo-theology? There is no such thing. All theology is pseudoscience.

I don’t think that theology is pseudoscience.   At the very least, it’s pseudophilosophy.

But even grating that it is pseudoscience, why does that rule out the existence of a category of pseudotheology?

A domain, as it were, three steps removed from reality, instead of two or one.

“Not a good advertisement for your faith. ”  What is a ‘bad advertisement of your faith’ is saying that you are a Christian but the very God you believe in liedand His word doesn’t contain his word.

That kind of belief undermines itself and tells unbelievers that your God sinned and in need of a Savior.

I think you may be confusing me with the young earth creationists, who claim that God made huge chalk beds appear to give the impression that the Earth is very old, and then expects people to reject his own testimony as the Creator.

There is no statistical evidence that God micro-manages the world. There seem to be individuals whom God favors. In the old days, they were called “saints” or ‘prophets,” to few to be statistically meaningful.  Me, I have a guardian angel for whom I am very thankful.

“God is my copilot” was the title of Brig. Gen. Robert L. Scott Jr’s wartime autobiography. Obviously a theist, Scott gives no evidence in the book of being a Christian. Notice that he had no interest in putting God in the pilot’s seat.
