Stolen Tabernacle

Posted here:

Please pray for the safe return of the tabernacle (and of course our Eucharistic Lord inside) that was stolen from the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at the St. Francis Newman Center at Ball State University some time last night or this morning. Please also pray for the person or person who have committed this crime and act of desecration. Thank you.

Sounds like it is time that our Churches get their tabernacles bolted down more securely and install cameras for security!

This is a very very SAD commentary on the state of our culture.

No worries; Jesus ALWAYS comes back. I’ve seen it happen many times over. All will be returned.

What is wrong with people? Do they somehow think this is funny? I’m mortified!

  • Stephanie

Who in the world??!!!??? That’s just wrong.

I am so ashamed. Ball State is in Muncie, Indiana….my state.

Prayers that all is recovered without damage or further desecration.

This happened to my home parish. It was then that we had to lock the doors of the church. Prior to then, we had been open at all hours. It’s sad, so sad.

Our cathedral installed an invivible light which, if crossed, set off an alarm in the office and presbytery.

Please let us know when/if the Hosts are returned.

I am a student at Ball State and visit our chapel at St. Francis often. Last night was the first time I was not allowed in because the doors had been locked (it has always been open 24 hours for us students to pray). Please return our tabernacle and the Blessed Sacrament!

Wow! That’s some kind of stupid…”Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
Praying for the speedy return and repentance by the thieves.
    God bless them…

I will pray for the return of the stolen Tabernacle. Please keep us posted with developments.

In my hometown parish they renovated a small chapel in the church to set aside for 24 hour adoration. Some cretin attempted to attack a parishoner that was there late in the night.
I recall as a chile something similar happening in a church in New York City. The church was the parish of Carlo Gambino. The article stolen was quickly found and returned.
