Closing Up the Cabin

It’s snowing today in the northwoods. We’re packing out what remains of the food, wiping out the fridge, and shutting down the water. The turkeys eluded me all weekend, and the ducks have already flown the coop.

The end of the season is always bittersweet, for obvious reasons.

    My cabin, well, more of a shack, gets more use in the winter, when I’m logging, skiing, and the occasional sauna. You should drop by sometime.
