Blessing the Organizers

Beloveds, thank you for showing up.
We sing: organize, organize, organize

We bear witness to the courage and the power – our own and each others.

Last month we created a ritual for the Blessing of Organizers for a service led by the Center for Ethical Living and Social Justice Renewal and I offer it to us now as a resource for the movement, fortification for the struggle:

Blessing of Organizers:

In this sacred time, we would ask for everyone present to join in a ritual of blessing for all of us who organize for justice in this time of struggle.

Beloveds, you are invited to take a deep breath in and slowly, slowly release it.

As you are willing and able, reach out and connect with a human being near you.

You are invited to be a part of this blessing, offering your love and energy and support.

You are invited to be a part of this blessing, receiving love and energy and support from those around you.

Breathing in deeply and slowly releasing your breath, please repeat after us:

You are worthy.

Your life matters.

You are not alone.

You are held by a community of power and love.

We are grateful for you.

Receive this blessing

And go forth with courage

To organize for justice and mercy
