Review: True Magic by Cyndi Brannen

Review: True Magic by Cyndi Brannen October 17, 2019

Earlier this year, Dr. Cyndi Brannen rocked my world with her book about Hekataen witchcraft called Keeping Her Keys. Now, she has done it again with the soon to be released, True Magic.

True Magic: Unleashing Your Inner Witch

As one of Cyndi’s students at Open Circle Institute, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts about this book and what it offers to the wider witchcraft community. True Magic: Unleashing Your Inner Witch is designed to help the reader (regardless of path, tradition, deity, etc.,) find a path to healing and empowerment. Here is part of the book’s description (releasing November 1st) from Amazon:

“True Magic takes the best parts of witchcraft, shamanism, occult and mystical paths from the ancient to the contemporary so that you can wield their wisdom. You will learn how to use plant magick, animal spirits, words of power, alchemy, ancient philosophy, the chakras and more to unleash your Inner Witch.”

Seven is a magickal number. This is found to be true in a multiple belief systems and practices throughout the world. In her new book, Dr. Cyndi Brannen builds upon this concept by combining the best of esoteric, mystical, occult and spiritual practices to create a seven step program toward personal healing and embracing one’s power as a Witch. These seven steps include:

Healing
Relationships
Sovereignty
Growth
Connections
Abundance
Wholeness

Every chapter provides an indepth look at the concept and includes rituals, spells, meditations and other practical techniques of working through these steps toward releasing what no longer serves and achieving wholeness.

True Magic: Embracing The Real You

I love this book. The principles are sound. The techniques, rituals and spells explained in great detail. And Cyndi has written the information in such as way that one step leads into another in a natural progression. By using this book as a guide, the reader can follow their own time-table toward self-initiation into personal true magic. Concepts such as “the Witches Hour of Power”, working with plant, stone, and other spirit allies, dealing with toxic people are the tip of the ice berg for what this book offers.

True Magic is a wonderful book for any Witch new to the Craft or trying to define their personal path but is excellent for the more advanced Witch as well. Everyone can find benefit in learning to heal wounds, find balance, and embrace the power within to become an even more grounded and skilled practitioner. I believe this book can help the reader do that and more.

In my opinion, every Witch should have a copy of this book on their shelf. All the concepts are relatable to the human experience and the lessons of this book can be drawn upon for years. So, consider this book HIGHLY recommended by me.
