Tom Brady’s Wife A Witch. And That’s A Problem?

Tom Brady is a great football player. No one can question this fact. He works hard and gets the job done on the field. People have maybe been jealous of his “charmed” life over the years but that’s fair. Then a couple of years ago, he let people know his wife is a witch. That she has him wear crystals, has an altar set up for his games, etc. She works spells for his continued health, protection, and overall success. Here are some Tom Brady quotes from the 2019 CBS Sports article where he revealed this:

“I’ve learned a lot from my wife over the years,” Brady said. “She’s so about the power of intention, and believing things that are really going to happen and she always makes a little altar for me at the game, because she just wills it so much. So she put together a little altar for me that I could bring with pictures of my kids.”

…

“Right after the game, she said, ‘See, I did a lot of work. You do your work. I do mine,'” Brady said. “She said, ‘You’re lucky you married a witch, I’m just a good witch.'”

I’m not going to go into Giselle’s implication about “good” or “bad” witches. That’s for another discussion. I’m just impressed that Tom did as she instructed. And from everything he said in the interview Giselle is a serious practitioner, who knows what she is doing, and uses her knowledge to assist her husband.

To his credit, Tom stopped thinking it a little strange, followed her advice, and is not ashamed to share his admiration for Giselle’s skills. Why? Because it works and better than wearing the same socks for every game. And for him to speak with such ease (and pride) about her practice made me smile. All of us should be so fortunate.

But that is the luxury of fame, fortune, and all that jazz Tom Brady enjoys. Even so, there are those who use his words about Giselle as a witch to mock him, question his work as an athlete, or outright condemn his eternal soul.

21st Century Witchcraft Still Under Fire

For those of us who live in the “real” world, we are quite aware of the disdain some folks (*cough* Fundamentalist Christians *cough*) have for those of us who follow esoteric paths and/or practice witchcraft. There is a reason many Witches and Pagans remain in the “broom closet” despite how “popular” magickal practice has become in recent years.

Why? Because there are ministers/pastors who preach from pulpits that “witchcraft is evil.” There are others who go on radio programs such as Rick Wiles, founder of TruNews, spouting very pointed rhetoric. Here’s an example from 2019 of Rick’s “fomenting” after Tom’s interview:

“It’s obvious Tom Brady has no spiritual discernment at all. It’s obvious that he’s spiritually lost. He’s being led through life by a witch. He thinks it’s cute. He thinks it’s — pardon the pun — charming. And he thinks it works, because he keeps winning.”

“And he sleeps with her. He’s sleeping with a witch. There’s deep spiritual ramifications for that. He’s sleeping with a witch. His soul is defiled because he’s having intimate relations with a witch. She’s a witch. She’s not just … somebody who has some goofy new-age ideas. She’s a witch.”

“Yes there are witches, but they’re all bad. There’s no such thing as a good witch,” Wiles told the show. “These are people who practice sorcery or witchcraft by communing with demonic spirits. It’s as simple as that.”

He goes on about the lake of fire, burning forever, blah blah. So much love in all those words, don’t ya think? Tom doesn’t even consider himself to be a witch. That’s Giselle. He seems to follow the “spiritual but not religious” path. But that doesn’t matter to some people. Guilt by association.

Witches, Pagans, and people of alternate magickal paths should be able to practice openly, should be able to laud ritual and spellcraft that has assisted their lives without recrimination. Athletes should be able to give credit to a magickal boost if they use it.

Why not? Christian athletes give credit for their wins to their god on and off the field all the damn time. Not to mention actors, musicians, yada yada. People who practice witchcraft should be able to do the same without being mocked, threatened, or reviled. We still have a long way to go. But (as I’ve said before), there has never been a better time to be a Witch than now.

Oops. Tom Brady Did It Again.

So, why am I bringing this up when Tom Brady’s comments are two years old? Well, the man has now won his seventh Superbowl. A supreme achievement due to the fact he is an outstanding athlete who works hard. He has a team who works well with him. So, let’s give credit where it is due. But several articles have been bringing up Tom’s “uncanny luck” which leads back to his wife’s spellcrafting ways.

Here’s my take as a Witch. Spellcraft and ritual didn’t hand all those championship rings to Tom Brady or his team(s). Sweat, blood, and perseverance did all that. However, witchcraft does/did work in his favor when necessary because of the energy and “material” provided to build on the intention.  Because that’s how magick works.

Spells don’t create a person’s will out of whole cloth. There has to be something with which the intention can work. Tom Brady does so physically, mentally, and (with the help of his wife) spiritually. Thus, he and whatever team he’s leading at the time have a greater chance for success thanks to a magickal assist. It’s not a “cheat” for luck to swing in someone’s favor if that is part of the magick toward their goal. How do people think job spells work?

Is Tom Brady’s life without controversy (“deflate-gate”)? No. But the reality that his wife is a witch? One who uses her craft to aid her spouse toward success in his workplace? Yeah. That should not even be a thing. And I say, hell to the yeah Giselle. Keep working your magick. And maybe one day the world will stop getting twitchy when things get witchy.
