Happy August. All my friends and family members are trying to add as much summer fun as can be, threatened by each sunset; the month like the Sunday of summer. Today as my dad and I walked around Home Depot looking for some items to make a fun house project, we recalled our last August. We had an offer on our home and an offer on a home we really wanted. There were so many uncertainties and fearful moments that we wondered if it would ever end. The stressful struggle at that time was mere bruises, not scars, but it’s so hard to see it in the moment. In the end everything worked out.
Bumps and bruises are a way of life and the surest way to prevent the scars is to practice good habits in positive thinking. It might be with healthy eating, healthy thinking, or healthy actions. There will be days that you feel like giving up and where you feel all alone. No matter what, remember that you have the power to move forward and you can make the decision who to bring forward with you.
New months are interesting because it gives us a time to start fresh. Life is much like a secret garden – you have to make the time to look for the keys that open the doorways. It’s often a misconception that my job as a medium and life coach is to hand the map that shows the shortcut to those keys out like bubblegum. If only. If I could, I would. The thing is each one of us is given many paths that lead to the same destination, and some that lead us off course. Remember when your parent told you not to do this or that and you did it anyhow, only for years later to recognize how right they really were? Or someone special in your life told you that this or that path would be the best thing for you and you had that concern that maybe it really wasn’t, but you did it anyhow, only for your intuition to say “told you so” when you ended up in a messy situation? Our guides and angels want to ease your journey, but not by fast passing you to the destination, but to help you with discoveries along the way. Some of those discoveries end up with scars, but most are just bruises. It doesn’t mean you failed any which way. Failure comes when you stop fighting for yourself and your dreams. Success doesn’t come without some failures and frustrations. You’ll be okay as long as you don’t allow the bruises or scars to define you, but instead to teach you, and remind you to keep walking your path. There will be cheerleaders around your route, scavengers, and many obstacles. Keep focused and be careful of finger pointing and backtracking.
I hope that this month you will take the time to go discover you again – to discover your dreams again. There might be some weeding to do. You might have some resting to do, but the hard work will pay off in the end.
I believe in you!
