Progressive Jewish organization skewers “Obsession”

Speaking of Islamophobia, check out Jews On First's hard-hitting examination of the dishonesty of the film by "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West", the pseudo-documentary by all your favorite Islamophobic hate-peddlers that was recently mailed to millions of people.

The report is entitled "Rebutting Obsession." Its subcaption is "Historical Facts Topple Film's Premise That Violent Muslim Fundamentalists are Nazis' Heirs, Expose its Fear-mongering."  Need I say more?

Kudos and thanks to our friends at Jews On First for taking on this important and difficult work. They clearly understand what's at stake. Demagoguery needs to be exposed for the health of American democracy.

November 2, 2008. We have just posted a critical analysis of the video Obsession, which was distributed to 28 million homes this fall to gin up fear of "radical Islam" as an anti-Obama factor in the election and enduring anti-Muslim bigotry in American society.

Obsession, we show, falsely claims a direct connection between Hitler's Nazis and what it calls "Radical Islam." Our analysis also pinpoints several translation errors in Obsession's efforts to paint Muslims as violent.
