Pay careful attention to the news these days. It can be both beneficial and harmful to thinking and mental health, so please take it in-stride. As more news stories surface, I hope and think that many more can see the increasing threat of Donald Trump, his rhetoric, and the increasing danger of Christian Nationalism.
Although Liz Cheney does not talk about Christian Nationalism in this video, she sternly warns how dangerous Donald Trump could be in a second term and tags him as the most dangerous threat to our country. She warns that Trump will unravel the institutions of our democracy if he is elected for a second term. She encourages people to set aside partisanship and place the constitution and democracy first. Liz Cheney is now trying to help elect “sane and serious” people in both parties. Let’s watch her interview here.

In this video, Immigration Lawyer Ghassen Shameih speaks of Donald Trump’s dangerous rhetoric, particularly the words, “poisoning the blood of our county.” He is a Palestinian-American who understands racism, immigration, and harmful rhetoric. Shameih draws attention to the fact that Donald Trump mentions only immigrants from South-American, Asia, and African countries but fails to mention to mention immigrants from “white” countries. Shameih calls this racism, and so do I. Here is another American hero who is speaking against Donald Trump’s rhetoric.

Rachael Maddow also warns about the danger of Donald Trump and his rhetoric. She warns Americans to believe Donald Trump’s future promises of a dictatorship and revenge, the same type of rhetoric Hitler and Mussolini used. Not only does Donald Trump want Americans to turn on each other, Maddow warns that there is a potential threat to certain people, that they must be exterminated because “they are so dangerous.” Give some thought to the institutions that Donald Trump has promised to unravel.

Last, I am going to share clips from Mika Brezinski who is a political talk show host. She brings attention to the idea that Republicans have a responsibility to speak out against the dangers of Trump. Like Rachael Maddow, she warns about the dangers of Donald Trump and his rhetoric. She also warns Americans to believe Donald Trump’s future promises of a dictatorship and revenge. Like me, she mourns the facts of “What will it take. How much division, how much does the country have to go through, how much strain on our democracy, how much stress on the FBI and our institutions do we have to endure?” I know the type of person who has unconditionally supported Donald Trump and deliberately wants to overthrow our democracy. They are not good people in my opinion. They are far-right Christians who will not listen to anyone who dissents from their viewpoints.

I don’t know why people keep believing that supporting Donald Trump is ok, particularly people who identify as Christians. As Liz Cheney said during the January 6th committee, to my Republican colleagues, “there will come a day when Donald Trump will be gone, but your dishonor will remain.”
