: Pat Buchanan: Islam will reconquer Europe?

With his typical xenophobic flair, Pat Buchanan argues against the “dangers” of immigration and non-Western cultures by claiming that Islam will take over Europe and that the 21st century will be an “Islamic Century”. “With 12 million to 15 million Muslims in Europe, Islam has surpassed Judaism as Europe’s second religion,” says Buchanan, “and is its most vibrant, for as the Christian churches of Europe empty out, the mosques are filling up.” Sure, it might seem like a backhanded compliment to the appeal of Islam, but he attributes this increase in number to an abnormally high birth rate and rampant immigration.
