Due to its protective effects, such as reduced inflammation, reduction in free radicals and improved insulin sensitivity, fasting may help prevent cancer. Animal studies indicate as such, but human studies need to be conducted to prove it. Fasting has also been shown to help reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
