Reality! It’s how to make a buck…

Don’t be put off by the fact that this is a talk given mostly to game designers and focuses on facebook. It’s damned good. And it’s damned Buddhist. As he, Jesse Schell, points out, “we live in a bubble of fake bullshit. And we hunger to get to anything that’s real. Even if the best we can do is a Starbucks mocha with real swiss chocolate.”

It’s frightening, but painfully true.

Amazingly, many of the ‘out there’ scenarios of futuristic movies in the 80s and 90s are becoming the world we live in. Is this good? Where does it stop? Jesse ends with a hopeful anecdote about becoming better people; but it’s weak in my opinion. What do you think of it?
