Mid-May Sunsets

Mid-May Sunsets

My time living with Julie is soon coming to a close, and while I know that my move in with a friend and fellow grad student will do wonders for my thesis work, one of the many (many!) things I’ll miss about living out here will be our evening walks and camera-grabbing as the sun nears the horizon each night.

The weather this May has been weird, but I suppose that’s normal for Montana – if that makes sense. We’ve been hailed on a couple times (including today), warmed up, then got snow, then rain, then more sun, and now… who knows.

Last year was unusually wet and cool, making for a lovely July and August. No scorching heat = no wildfires = no smoke in the valleys. Given the last 5-10 years though and all that stuff Al Gore went on about in “An Inconvenient Truth,” last year was a fluke.

Either way, nature’s changing seasons give us opportunity to pause.

Okay, done pausing. Back to work.
