Weight, Regret, and Shame.

Weight, Regret, and Shame. December 19, 2011

I was driving in the car listening to some tunes, when a voice in my head, came through and gently reminded me, “remember that bad thing you did way back when…”

Weight.

Regret.

Shame.

The voice went on, “And remember that thing you said the other day…”

More weight.

More regret.

More Shame.

We’ve all been here. We’ve heard this voice echoe in the back of our minds, telling us, reminding us of how sinful, how fallen, how broken we are…

To be honest most of us have skeletons in our closets. Most of us have done things that when we think back to them, or something triggers a memory of them, we are over come with this weight that carries great amounts of shame and regret.

But I’m here to say to you today, you’re forgiven. I’m forgiven.

Satan. He wants to convince us otherwise. He wants us to think, and to feel as if what Christ did on Calvary Hill that day was NOT enough. That the blood he shed covered everything BUT that one indiscipicable sin we committed, are committing, or will commit.

But the fact is. Christs blood covered all of our sins, future, present, or past sins that we’ve committed. And because of that we’re not only forgiven, but we’re loved.

So when that voice echoes in the back of your mind of how dirty you are, remind him remind yourself of what Christ did for us.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
