Constitution Week: Rebellion and Division

Constitution Week: Rebellion and Division September 17, 2013

Author’s Note: This post is part of a series looking at resources for teaching children about the U.S. Constitution on Constitution Day (Sept. 17).

Episode #40 of Liberty’s Kids picks up where we left off with the episode I shared yesterday about George Washington.

In Part 1, we are introduced to Shay’s Rebellion and some of the other issues which forces the 13 states into the meeting in convention in the summer of 1787.

It also introduces some of the many issues that divided the states. These divisions not only complicated the convention itself, but they also tell us a lot about the final product that came out of the convention as the Constitution.
