5. Pray for your spouse.
For those of you who read this blog a lot, you know that my husband and I are HUGE proponents of prayer. I honestly don’t know how we’d make it without prayer. As Christians, prayer is our lifeline, our connection to God, and our bridge to peace and perspective. God knows our problems and frustrations before we ever utter a word. And, He knows our spouse’s too.
Friends, if you aren’t already doing so, I encourage you to pray with and for your spouse every day. It doesn’t have to be lengthy or with flowery language. Just talk to God like you would talk to your best friend. And, in those moments when your frustrated with your spouse being in a funk, cry out to God to help you be patient and kind with your spouse. Ask Him to help your spouse break out of his/her bad mood. Ask God to bring peace to your marriage and home. And, He will calm you and give you the ability to be patient with your spouse. In time, your spouse will snap out of his/her funk, too. And, peace and love will envelope your hearts and home.
**If your spouse is having a prolonged season of experiencing mood swings, frustration, and anxiety, he/she might have more than just a bad mood. Please read more about this HERE.
