
3. Schedule and keep a regular date night.
Date nights aren’t just for those who are dating. In fact, I believe married couples need them even more. Date nights are a great way to experience a break from the daily grind and remember what brought the two of you together in the first place. They don’t have to be expensive or copious hours. Some of my favorite date nights with Dave are ones where we walk around our favorite place in town together, breath in the fresh air, and talk. And, finding a sitter is easier than ever before with sites like Care.com. If you don’t feel comfortable with that, try checking out your neighborhood website classifieds, ask your church nursery workers, check out your local YMCA for parents’ nights out, or see if your friends with kids might be willing to do a babysitting swap with you. There are lots of different, affordable options, but we must make it a priority to make it happen. You’ll be so glad you did!
