4. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:31

This may not seem like a verse for mothers, but there is so much truth and direction within it.  In the midst of the child-rearing years, we become so hyper-focused on our day-to-day parenting tasks that we often forget that we are raising our kids to grow up and flee the nest one day.  Whether or not they marry, we are raising our kids to ultimately take care of themselves and have a keen awareness and concern for the world around them.
