1. Immigration. Republicans are generally blamed for holding anti-immigration views. Republicans would argue that they are not “anti-immigration”, but rather anti-illegal immigration. However, the data noted here clearly shows that the immigrant population themselves don’t buy that excuse, as they feel unsupported by Trump and Republicans.
The Bible reminds the believers to be fair to the refugees and foreigners- to be welcoming to them. There are numerous passages throughout the Christian Bible, comprised of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
“Do not take advantage of foreigners who live among you in your land. Treat them like native-born Israelites, and love them as you love yourself. Remember that you were once foreigners living in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:33-34
Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other. Zechariah 7:10
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18
