Ha! Just kidding. Yes, Valentine’s Day is Tuesday, and I’ll be covering the astrology of that day tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s not forget that there are a full six days scheduled for next week other than Valentine’s Day — and like it or not, you get to live through them.

Two major aspects are influencing the week, both involving sextiles (a separation of 60 degrees between two planets). The sextile isn’t a particularly loud or flash aspect — it doesn’t shout like a conjunction or slap you in the face like a square, so it’s easy to overlook the opportunities it can present.

During the first half of the week, Sun sextile Saturn is a nice stabilizer if there’s some area of your life that needs to be whipped into shape. Saturn has a reputation for being stiff and unyielding and generally unpleasant, but if it’s on your side it can do wonders for getting your act together.

The second half of the week sees the influence of Mercury sextile Mars. Since Mercury rules communications, and Mars lends energy to anything it aspects, this might be a good time to get something off your chest that you’ve been hesitant to express. Of course, astrology never guarantees common sense… so if that thought you’ve been holding back involves your boss performing an anatomically impossible act of self-love, maybe you should keep it to yourself.

And hey: worst case scenario? If your Valentine’s Day is a disaster or a disappointment for you, and you’d like some solid advice on how you can change things (or, worst case scenario, how to deal with it), I know a guy
