The Gulet Boat Adventures and More: Part Nineteen

The Gulet Boat Adventures and More: Part Nineteen September 19, 2014

Our very last thing to do on our trip was to take a leisurely stroll through the old city of Antalya, and have one last yummy Turkish meal. We will start at the famous Hadrian’s gate….seen from the front and from the back.

We walked through the old streets and saw all kinds of things, a bouquet hotel, beautiful flowers, even wedding photos.

We passed cheap street vendors of food and trinkets, and expensive shops selling Iznik tile copies…

We saw the ancient monumental tomb of a governor of the region named Julius Anekta..

Notice the emblems of authority here…

We took some time to take some fun family photos with Mel helping…

We arrived finally at the harbor and thought of Paul and Barnabas, arriving with nothing more than their courage and their faith…

What would it take to bring Christianity to this beautiful diverse land, so rich in cultures and differing people groups?

This pilgrimage has been a blessing from start to finish. More than just an adventure, more than just a tour, a journey of faith, like that of Paul’s. And what we found has only made me sing for joy– ‘the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Let us rejoice and be glad’ and ‘come sail away, yes come sail away, come sail away with me…..’
