So we’ve shown you some of Donegal castle, the castle of the O’Donnells, and like many lords and ladies, they collected fine things, including important manuscripts, in this case, an early book of Psalms in Gaelic.
There are some fine views from in the castle of the surrounding area…
There are some nice churches in Donegal, a proper Anglican church, and a Methodist church.
These churches were either shut, or empty, but if you are looking for people and the life of the town then you need to go into the inns and pubs. In particular, you need to visit the Reel Inn, where there is traditional music every night (not to mention Guinness). Strange things happen when you’ve had too much Guinness,. You start dancing, and come out of your shell. Or you go across the street and get a tattoo late at night, and then wake up the next morning wondering what in the world you did. Or you may just go to an inn and sleep it off…. The main thing you remember however is the music…
