Pop’s Lessons– Part Twenty Nine

Psalm 103.7– “he made known his ways to Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.’  In the Old Testament, it is stated that the secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him.  That is one of the greatest verses in the Bible. But how much more wonderful are the words of Christ when he declares ‘I will love him and manifest myself to him.’ Even in our age, a closer walk with God will bring a knowledge of God’s ways that will help us to understand things which cause many to doubt and fear.  Mysteries must always remain, but any sense of our being puzzled by some irresponsible Supreme Being will be banished.  Yet we must remember that obedience to God is the key that makes possible for us an entry into God’s inner purposes. ‘If anyone will do his will’ states our Lord to his disciples, ‘he shall know the truth’.

Our main trouble is not external because of the things that happen around us, but rather internal because of our unwillingness to accept God’s will and identify ourselves with his great purposes.  In the light of God’s countenance you will be illuminated within and will see God’s light on your pathway. But your pathway must be the way that God has chosen for you. On that road he can and will make known to you his ways, his deep inner purposes for you and for the world.  Prayer is the greatest communication human beings can use today, for God has said, ‘and it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear’. We know his ways, but do we follow them?  Yes, he knows our future before it happens, but through his love we can be saved from our sins. He will redeem us if only we will do his will.  The answer is ours.
