Every Member Matters August 26, 2015

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. — Romans 12:4-5 (ESV)

Screen Shot 2015-08-26 at 7.46.24 AM When I think of these verses the obvious thing I consider is that the body of Christ is a body of different parts. Some of those parts are unseen and may seem insignificant, but the truth is they aren’t. Some of those parts are visible and may receive more honor because they are seen, but in reality they don’t necessarily deserve more honor. The trick is realizing that the whole body only works well when each member works well. When a member of the body doesn’t function well, it requires some of the other parts to work harder. The goal however, needs to be to have each member take responsibility and also learn to honor the other parts of the body. So, today, check out another member of the body and say thanks. You may not know how much they will appreciate it and just know that we are the body of Christ. What an honor that is.
