Today in D.C. the Jesuits are descending. I’m thrilled to be hanging out with hundreds of young people who are looking to explore what it means to an active Catholic in Washington D.C. The Ignation family Teach-in brings presenters from all over the country together to talk about issues of justice in our world today. I’m heading up the efforts of Bread for the World here. We will be presenting tomorrow on:
- creating a “Circle of Protection” around essential safety net programs here in the united states,
- How protecting children and mothers from conception of the Child until their second birthday is essential for preventing disease, improving education, strengthening health, and saving lives. These 1000 days are key!
- We will also be hosting a time for people to come together and share about how they are involved in ending hunger in their own communities and in the world at large
If you are at the teach-in today or tomorrow come find me at the Bread for the World table and attend our break out sessions tomorrow!
