There’s an App for that…Catholic Version

To go along with B-Mama’s post below on a technology that allows you to do your NFP charting online, I saw the other day that there is now an I-Phone App that assists Catholics in preparing for the sacrament of Confession! From my understanding, the App does not in any way claim to be a substitute for the Sacrament; rather, the purpose of the App is to act as a tool in making a good Examination of Conscience. If I read it correctly, it sounds like you enter some information about yourself and the App then gives you a personalized Examination. It sounds like this could be a great tool for all of those tech-savvy Catholics!

Here is a brief excerpt from a NYDailyNews.com article:

“Our desire is to invite Catholics to engage in their faith through digital technology,” said Patrick Leinen of the three-man company Little iApps, based in South Bend, Indiana.”Taking to heart Pope Benedict XVI’s message from last years’ World Communications Address, our goal with this project is to offer a digital application that is truly ‘new media at the service of the word.” (NYDailyNews.com, Feb. 7 2011)

I haven’t ventured into the realm of I-Phones yet, but if/when I do, this will probably be one of the first Apps that I purchase. Does anyone have personal experience with “Confession: A Roman Catholic App”? We’d love to hear from you!
