Life’s a bowl of cherries…

I don’t usually have much interest in gadgets that only have one purpose, but I love fresh cherries, love that my kids love them and their antioxidant power, but HATE watching my family spit pits into napkins, hands or back lawn.  Today I picked up this tool at Wegmans, it was on display next to the cherries, and we took it home to try right away.  It was like a new Montessori work in our household, everyone lined up to push it down and squeeze out the pits, which are nicely contained in a holder below.  The fruit is not smashed, and we quickly had a beautiful bowl of pitted cherries to enjoy.  Dishwasher safe, this tool was worth the $9.99!  The baby can now eat cherries safely without all that hand-staining knife work for mom, and one boy, reluctant to try cherries in the past, tasted and approved the fruit of his labor.
