In my particular series of historical blog posts  (Heck of a Ride Around the Sun) I have tried to include and insert many many canonized Catholic Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God into the timelines. I may have missed some and it’s hard to go back and drop them into history. So I’m putting them here in this particular series of articles on the Catholic Bard’s List of Saints. I took the General Roman Calendar, some books on saints,... Read more

Some heretical opinions surfaced that challenged the apostolic orthodox tradition of who Christ is and also got the early church fathers thinking about  how to clearly proclaim with dogmatic certitude what the church left in charge by Jesus truly believed about the identity of her founder. Patrick is the name given to... Read more

Terry asking Fr. Scanlon to step on his throat and mouth telling him “Lie there, you country lout, How is it that you have so... Read more

“You are great, Lord, and highly to be praised.” (Confessions 1.1)  And in your wisdom O’ Lord you have  given us thy servant Aurelius Augustinus, known to us living in the 21st century as the great doctor of the church, St. Augustine. “The praise of Augustine has never ceased to be proclaimed in the Church of God”, said Pope Pius XI.[1] He has been praised so much because he has given us a solid bedrock of theology in which our... Read more
