Sean Hannity has been a long-time endorser of the Convention of States Project, but yesterday on his radio show he took his support to a whole new level.
“So the swamp is really, really deep and — frankly — too deep for the President to drain alone. But together, we have the power to get it done permanently. Now, the solution is our Constitution. We can call a Convention of States to gut federal power. Congress and the Courts, they can’t stop us. Now, do I have your attention?” he asked.
Yep.
“We’ve seen President Trump’s agenda to drain the swamp in Washington. We’ve seen it blocked by Congress and the Deep State. Now it’s time to drain the swamp ourselves. The great one, Mark Levin, wrote The Liberty Amendments about this, and my friend Mark Meckler, founded the Convention of States because he wants to drain the swamp and do it permanently. And now I’m joining Convention of States to make this happen,” he said.
“So join me in this Constitutional revolution at ConventionofStates.com. They have a petition, go sign it today. President Trump can’t do it alone. He needs our help to drain this swamp.”
So, what exactly is Sean talking about? Well, Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Our convention would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”
