I don’t know enough about this case to be able to come to a firm conclusion regarding it. But it worries me. It’s certainly possible that a prominent and apparently quite successful government employee was fired for expressing his religious viewpoint. If so, that will represent simply one more erosion of our tradition of free expression and religious liberty.
