It’s somewhat difficult for me to see how religion poisoned Michelangelo’s frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Surely Christopher Hitchens must have overlooked the scene shown above, for example. Would we really be better off, would Western civilization be richer and somehow healthier, if it didn’t exist?
