
As this conservative Protestant publication recognizes, the recently concluded general conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints manifested, once again, the Church’s official, straightforward, unreserved, continuing affirmation that marriage between men and women is the Lord’s standard, instituted and approved by God:

The expectation seems to be not only that homosexual lifestyles should be legally permitted and that homosexuals should be treated well, but that, even in their own teachings in their own services, churches must avoid any suggestion that they disapprove of such lifestyles. And the day may not be far distant, in that light, when churches will be expected to trumpet their approval of every alternative choice in sexual behavior. Failure to do so will, of course, be regarded as an expression of “hate.”
