“To dump Trump, Republicans should withhold their cash”

To whatever extent Mr. Trump may actually have achieved some success in business, a substantial portion of it has come from encouraging Americans and others to gamble and take irrational risks. That seems rather appropriate, to me.

As a way to eventually win their party back, should Republican donors keep their money from the Trump campaign?

That, anyway, is what George Will advises:

And, as it happens, it’s what I’m already doing.

It’s unlikely, of course, that my vast financial resources would have made any difference to the ultimate outcome of the 2016 presidential race, but, still, I can make my little statement.

And if more than a few traditionally Republican donors withhold their money (as the Mormon donors in Nevada appear to be doing), that will have a real impact.

P.S.:  Dr. Wills’s article is also interesting, by the way, because of the light it sheds on the sheer fraudulence of Mr. Trump’s candidacy.
