“More Effective Apologetics”

The remarks that Grant Hardy delivered at the 2016 FairMormon conference earlier this month are now up online for your reading pleasure:

I’ve seen reports on the internet that I was enraged by what Grant said, and that, in concert with many of my colleagues, I’m still seething with almost ungovernable fury.

And it’s true that there are a few places in the talk where I may disagree.

(As the game seems to be played, if I say that I mostly agree with the talk, that proves that I really don’t.  I’m overcompensating.  Or something like that.)

I myself gave a talk at the 2013 FairMormon conference entitled “Toward a More Effective Apologetics”:

If you can get past the incessant mean-spirited personal attacks and name-calling of my 2013 comments, they might make for appropriate companion-reading alongside Grant’s more recent talk.

That’s all for now.  The mere thought of what Grant said a couple of weeks ago has me reaching for my tranquilizers.  Indeed, I may need to seek out professional counseling.
