Someone called my attention to this article, on what seems to be an alt-right and/or Trumpist website:

I haven’t verified the story itself, but I’m struck by how the article holds its depiction of Angola up as something to be emulated.

Just for some context, here are some other details about Angola:

The Heritage Foundation’s 2016 Index of Economic Freedom categorizes Angola among its “repressed” nations, ranking it 156 out of 178 countries.  North Korea comes in dead last, but, for comparison, China is ranked at 144 and Russia is listed at 153.  Unlike Angola, China and Russia are classed as merely “mostly unfree.”

The 2016 Human Freedom Index puts Angola at 150 out of 159 surveyed countries.  Angola has a score of 2.5 on a scale of 10 with regard to both freedom of association and freedom of assembly and demonstration.

Amnesty International’s most recent summary statement regarding Angola reports that “Freedoms of expression, association and assembly were severely restricted. At least 16 prisoners of conscience were in detention; 15 of them were placed under house arrest on 18 December. The authorities used criminal defamation laws and state security legislation to harass, arbitrarily arrest and detain individuals for peacefully expressing their views, and to restrict press freedom. The government passed a new law restricting the activities of NGOs.”

Angola is plainly a kind of utopia, a shining model to strive toward in the building of a new Amerika.
