Today has been a sea day, which I’ve really enjoyed. I love being on the ocean. (Alas, though, and despite all my handwashing, I’ve caught a cold, which somewhat mitigates the pleasure.)
I lectured to our Cruise Lady group on the significance of the Book of Mormon today, and on some of the Witnesses. That was in the morning. In the afternoon, inspired by fact that we had just been in Balkan territory once controlled by the Ottoman Empire, I spoke on Islam and, specifically, on the Ottomans.
We’re moving toward night right now, as we cruise westward. I’m sitting at the stern of the ship, on Deck 11, and I can see Sicily in the haze to the south. We’ve just passed to the south of two small – and, to my untrained eye, at least – transparently volcanic islands. I haven’t yet managed to identify them.
