Just about every day — literally — I think to myself how much better things would be if we had Mitt Romney in the White House rather than the ineffectual incumbent.
I doubt very much that we’re going to see a sudden groundswell of sentiment for drafting Governor Romney, but I would be far from unhappy if one materialized.
By all accounts, he’s a really good man. Moreover, he’s bright, and an excellent manager.
Some faulted his performance as a candidate — though I notice that he came in ahead of all but one of his critics in the 2012 presidential race, receiving very nearly 61 million votes — but many even of those critics admit that he would have made a fine chief executive.
And, anyhow, isn’t it about time that a contributor to Interpreter be elected president?
I mean, the Interpreter Foundation was just three months old at the time of the 2012 presidential election, so, really, it was unrealistic for anybody to imagine that we could have put a candidate into the White House at that point. But we’ll hit our third birthday in early August. We’re ready.
