Many support Mr. Donald Trump for the presidency because of his alleged business acumen.  Personally, I see no conclusive that he’s a very good businessman, although he’s certainly played one on television.  (Bill Cosby played an obstetrician on TV, but — although like Mr. Trump he’s exceptionally interested in women — he’s not actually a doctor.)

Anyway, here’s a piece from the Economist — one of the finest magazines in the English-speaking world — that describes some of Mr. Trump’s business activities in a way that goes directly to his character:

It is said that Mr. Trump and his employees are planning an assault on the character of Bill and Hillary Clinton that will be absolutely fierce.

I don’t doubt it.  And there’s plenty of material there for an attack.  The Clintons appear to be both cynical and quite corrupt.

But there’s plenty such material on the Trump side, too.  Indeed, there’s an overflowing, inexhaustible abundance of it.

Brace yourselves for what could easily be the most savage (and non-substantive) presidential contest of modern times.

America, friends, has brought this upon itself.  We have nobody else to blame.
