The world of “Beep Baseball,” blind America’s pastime

The world of “Beep Baseball,” blind America’s pastime June 5, 2012

This was news to me, but it’s really quite remarkable:

The rules of beep baseball are much like the original game, except the pitcher plays for the batting team and the bases are more like tackling dummies. (Also, the team names are way cooler. Minnesota Fighting Lions? Cleveland Scrappers?) It’s wild and fiercely competitive, and many players stay with their teams for more than 30 years.

In July, the 37th Annual Beep Baseball World Series will kick off in Ames, Iowa.
