VIDEO: What happens when two chimps go to see “Planet of the Apes”? 2016-09-30T15:53:20-04:00

Pretty much what you’d expect.

Details:

Two chimpanzees from the Myrtle Beach Safari went to the opening night of Dawn of the Planet of Apes Friday, and hopefully, this won’t be a case of “monkey see, monkey do.”

Vali and Sugriva, both two-year-old chimps from the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve, went to the opening night of the new movie at the Carmike Broadway 17 Big D Cinema at Broadway at the Beach on Friday night.

The two chimps appeared as excited as they were led into the cinema and paid for their tickets. They even paid for their own popcorn and drinks before heading upstairs to watch the film.

Vali and Sugriva appeared to be riveted by the on-screen performance of their counterparts – at times clapping and watching attentively. At one point, the movie’s action even frightened one of the chimps, who turned and hugged the trainer.

According to the theater manager, the chimps gave Dawn of the Planet of the Apes two thumbs up.

Check out the video below. It’s delightful. And a little freaky.
