UPDATE: Man who threatened to kill religious sister in Brooklyn arrested—but then freed

You may remember this shocking video from last week.  The sister who was attacked has been speaking out about her ordeal (check out the video above.)

But what about her attacker? An update:

The New York City Police Department late Thursday announced the arrest of a man who they say threatened to kill a nun inside a Brooklyn church.

Derrick Gadson, 56, is charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Another report added:

A police source said Gadson “Has a ton of arrests,” including eight for robbery.

He also has several for drugs, burglary and felony assault.

And what happened? According to the New York Daily News:

Prosecutors requested that he be held on $25,000 bail at the hearing Sunday, court records show.

Instead, Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Loren Baily-Schiffman placed him into Mayor de Blasio’s Supervised Release Program.
