UPDATE: Group of kidnapped sisters in Nigeria freed

Praise God: Some welcome news from Nigeria, regarding the three kidnapped sisters from the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy.

This email was sent to Bishop Gerald Barnes in San Bernardino late this afternoon:

Dear Bishop Barnes,

Good afternoon! The Regional Superior of the DMMM USA-Canada region just sent an email letting us know the kidnapped sisters have been released. God has answered our prayers.

May His great name be praised both now and forever, Amen!!

Thank you all for your prayers and support of our congregation during this difficult time.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God that I happily inform you that our dear Superior General, Rev. Mother Mary Angeleen Umezuruike and Councillors, Sr. Mary Catherine Nweke and Sr. Maria Amabilis Onuoha and our driver, Mr. Peter Okoloike are safely back to us. To God be all the glory!

I am very grateful to all of you for your wonderful display of solidarity during the very trying moment. Indeed, God hearkened to our prayers and sacrifices. We are ever grateful to Him and to Mary, our dear Mother of Mercy. May she continue to pray for us. Amen!
