Why I’m Not Watching the Political Conventions July 21, 2016

It increases a feeling of loneliness. So much of this year’s campaign on both sides seems to be about what people are against rather than for. The aspirational messages of previous years have been replaced by body slams. Even if a seed of unity or belonging is there, the attack-dog delivery keeps me at bay. I don’t want to identify with something fear-based and false. That makes me forget who I am, which is the true source of loneliness.
