An alleged lesbian affair hit a roadblock on Wednesday when Shimla Police picked up two girls from the city, one of them for misusing the number plate of a government car.

Radha and Manju, who hail from Chhota Shimla, came to the city on February 24. They hoped to find jobs and stay together here.

But Radha’s father, Sudeep, who is a driver with Himachal State Electricity Board, complained to the police that she had stolen his Maruti car and changed its number plate with that of his official car.

“In love with each other” right from their school days, they decided to spend their lives together a year ago. Radha was allegedly posing as Manju’s husband, but Radha’s father objected to this.

When the girls came here, a family friend of Manju’s maternal grandmother, who lives in Palsora village here, tipped off the Shimla police.

The police accompanied by the mother of one of the girls, nabbed them and recovered the Maruti from Sector 15 market.A private bank employee had falsely promised the girls jobs.
