Two small Tsunamis in Japan

Two major Tsunamis have hit the South East Asian region in the last year and a half. The second one of course went by and large unnoticed although it killed a lot of people in Indonesia. Now Japan has gotten another one though really puny in comparison!

Five small tsunamis hit northern Japan late Wednesday, estimated at no larger than 16 inches high, Japan’s Meteorological Agency said.

The first wave hit Nemuro port in Japan’s northernmost island of Hokkaido at 9:29 p.m. and registered at 16 inches, smaller than the 6 1/2 feet tall or higher initially expected by the agency.

A few minutes later, a second wave of 8 inches hit the nearby port city of Kushiro to the southwest, the agency said.

The shifts in the earths plates is happening at very short intervals – and that too major shifts.

It has been said that a major earthquake is due in the foothills of the Himalayas near about New Delhi… could that be a tragedy waiting to happen?
