Google to automate its hiring process; Using Algorithms January 3, 2007

Now Google is mechanising its hiring process. After revolutionizing the world of searches with hard-to-fathom mathematical algorithms, Google is trying to solve its issues in the hiring process by building yet another algorithm. Its mathematicians are on that job now.

Google used to go for the highest grades and marks at the school and anyone below 3.7 GPA was out of contention anyways. Now, the more than 100k applicants every month will have to fill up a questionnaire that explores their attitudes, behaviors, personality, and biographical details going back to as far back as their high schools. The test is meant to check if they fit into the Corporate Culture of Google as it is today. To ascertain this the company asked its employees to identify themselves in terms of their characteristics by filling up a 300 question survey over 5 months.

This will help speed up the process of hiring into this explosively growing company. link
