In the 1950’s, one of the most influential and well-known atheists of the past 50 years, Antony Flew, wrote a paper called Theology and Falsification at Oxford and presented it before C.S. Lewis, among other dignitaries. It was one of the most widely read philosophical articles for decades. The paper argued that claims about God were meaningless where they could not be tested for truth or falsehood.

Yet shortly before his death, death wrote that due to more study and scientific advances over the past few decades, he changed his mind about the whole God thing. He then wrote a book called There Is A God: How the World’s Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind. Now, the critics said that Flew merely was getting old and fearing his own death, so that’s why he had a change of mind and heart. Yet, he was on record saying the contrary. He wasn’t afraid of death, he simply believed that the evidence is compelling. There has to be a God.
In his book, he wrote:

“What I think the DNA material has done is show that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements together. The enormous complexity by which the results were achieved looks to me like the work of intelligence.”

I think he’s right.

I can vividly remember going through a stage in my life when I questioned everything – especially the Bible and Christianity in general. Some of it was emotional doubt. Some of it was intellectual doubt. I told my dad point blank (for those of you who don’t know who my dad is, Josh McDowell has spent over 50 years defending the Christian faith all over the world and has written over 100 books about it) that I had a ton of questions and I didn’t even know for certain if the Bible was true. He then looked me back, straight in the eye, and replied, “Son, I think that’s great. I sense that you want to know what is true. And, if you really seek after truth, you will find it. Because Jesus is the Truth. Now, don’t reject something that you were taught while you were growing up just for the sake of rebellion. Only reject something if you think that it’s false.”

That talk was so liberating!

So, I vigorously set out to find out what is true in this world of ours. And one of the things that I read that threw me for a loop came from a well known atheist who said, “If God exists, why doesn’t He make Himself more obvious? In fact, why doesn’t He write on every single cell ‘Made by Yahweh’, after all, each of our toys say ‘Made in China’ on them.”

And I remember wondering, “Yeah… why doesn’t God do that?”

Then, as I continued to look at the evidence, I realized that essentially, He did! As you examine the DNA information on each human cell, it’s as if God signed every cell in the human body.

Jesus, Himself said, “If you seek Me, you will find Me.”

The evidence is there for people who are willing to see it.
